VIJAYAWADA: Union minister for Cooperation Amit Shah informed Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that total 2,020 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) have been digitised and are operational in Andhra Pradesh. He expressed confidence that all sanctioned PACS will be fully digitised by March 31, 2027.

The union minister replied to an unstarred question raised by Sana Sathish Babu with regard to the number of PACS approved for computerisation in AP, the number of them fully digitised and operational, any on trial runs and whether Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software has been installed.

Amit Shah said ERP trials have commenced on 2,020 PACS. He pointed out that a common ERP software has been provided to all the PACS across the country to capture data on all functionalities of PACS, both credit and non-credit. He emphasised that the software is customisable for state-specific needs.

Sathish Babu further asked union minister of state for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary whether any skill development study has been carried out in coastal AP and whether the centre is promoting skills like AI, IoT and data analytics.

Jayant Chaudhary said skill gap studies have been going on since 2019, along with promotion of new age future skills like AI, IoT, big data analytics and digital skills. The National Skill Development Corporation has partnered with a number of international organisations, such as AWS, Microsoft, Intel, Redhat, Pearson VUE, Boston Consulting Group and others for providing digital courses.

In this regard, the union minister said under Skill India Mission skill development centres will be established through PPP models. He said as on June 30, as many as 356 STT centres and 14 SPL centres have been set up in AP under PMKVY 4.0. They are providing training across both conventional and emerging technologies.

Jayant Chaudhary assured that the PPP approach would ensure quality infrastructure, industry participation and better placement outcomes.
