20 Red Sanders Logs Seized In RSATF Operation

TIRUPATI: A special drive by the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) led to the seizure of 20 red sanders logs near Anjaneyapuram on the Karakambadi–Mamandur stretch in Tirupati district in the early hours of Tuesday. Two cars used for smuggling were confiscated, and one accused person was taken into custody.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of Task Force head L. Subba Rayudu and SP P. Srinivas, with DSP Srinivasa Reddy overseeing the checks. A team headed by RSI C. Vinod Kumar and RI Sai Giridhar began vehicle inspections late on Monday night. At dawn, two speeding cars were intercepted. One driver managed to escape, while the other was arrested on the spot.
Upon searching the vehicles, 20 red sanders logs were found concealed. The arrested person was identified as a native of Karnataka. Both vehicles and the seized logs were shifted to the Tirupati Task Force Police Station. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
