2 Jailed, 7 Fined For Drunk Driving In Nandyal

Kurnool: The Nandyal First Class Magistrate Court sentenced two motorists to one week’s jail and fined seven others a total of ₹39,000 for drunk driving. Police had conducted a special drive in Nandyal town, registering cases against nine motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol. In a separate operation, police carried out a cordon-and-search at Kanakaveedu village, targeting rowdy-sheeters and habitual offenders. CI Madhusudhan Rao appealed to residents to maintain peace during the upcoming Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations from August 27 and warned of strict action against lawbreakers.
