Some 1,81,011 voters are not available to enroll their names in the voters list in East Godavari district under the SIR process. They have been identified as ‘unavailable’ at their assigned addresses -- due to reasons such as death, permanent relocation to other areas, migration, untraced, or other factors.

East Godavari collector Kirthi Chekuri said that as a part of the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists, the booth level officers (BLO) conducted a door-to-door enumeration process from June 15 to July 24. During this exercise, 1,81,011 voters were not available at their addresses.

She said steps are being taken to register every eligible voter in the electoral roll and no ineligible person's name remains on the list. If any eligible person’s name is deleted from the voter list, he or she can re-register the name by submitting Form-6.

The collector urged the voters to register their names without fail as “the aim of the SIR is that every eligible voter should get the vote right, and their names should be present in the voter list.”

In Anaparthi constituency, names of a total of 21,087 voters have been deleted due to the reason that they were unavailable at their addresses during the enumeration phase. In the re-registration inquiry, another 161 voters were identified as ineligible voters.

In Mandapeta constituency, a total of 16,503 voters were identified as unavailable during the enumeration phase, while a subsequent inquiry identified 19 individuals as ineligible. Consequently, the total number of ineligible voters was 16,622.

In Rajanagaram constituency, 11,380 voters were identified as unavailable; and in the second phase, another 54 persons became ineligible . A total of 11,434 voters have become invalid voters in the voter list.

In Gopalapuram constituency, 16,481 voters have not been identified at their addresses.

The collector said that all these deleted voter names would be put through re-verification and if any eligible persons are identified, their names should be included in the voter list.

She said that a decision to re-verify names identified under the absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate categories aligns with the Election Commission’s commitment that “no eligible voter is left unregistered in the electoral roll.” After reverification of the voters, the final voter list would be published on October 16 and the voters can enroll their names in the voter list.
