11 Kg of Ganja Seized, Three Arrested

The police warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone involved in the transportation, sale, or consumption of ganja and other narcotic substances

Police teams seen with seized Ganja and the accused at Ongole on Monday

Nellore: As part of the special operation, the Prakasam district police intensified their drive against ganja and narcotics trafficking and conducted extensive checks at Ongole railway station on Monday. During the drive, they seized about 11 kilograms of ganja and took three persons into custody.

The accused were identified as G. Sandil Kumar, 50, B. Murugan, 28, both residents of Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, and Blessin, 20, a resident of Katteppana village, Idukki district, Kerala.

On the occasion, the police warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone involved in the transportation, sale, or consumption of ganja and other narcotic substances. They urged people to share information about drugs through the toll-free number 1972, Dial 112, or the police WhatsApp number 9121102266. The police assured the informants that their identities would be kept confidential. The operation saw participation from women police station CI Sudhakar, GRP CI Moula Sharif, SIs Shivaramayya, Sudarshan, and Sriram, along with EAGLE team personnel, dog handlers, special party members, and other staff.
