10 Andhra Fishermen Rescued Safely After Being Stranded on Puri Beach

Visakhapatnam: Ten fishermen from Andhra Pradesh, who were stranded on Puri beach in Odisha were safely rescued by the local marine police.

All of them, belonging to Chintapalli village in Pusapatirega mandal of Vizianagaram district, left for fishing in a mechanized fishing boat from Kakinada Harbor four days ago. The engine of the boat they were travelling in broke down. By then, they were stranded about 3 km from the Puri beach.

They immediately informed the authorities there. As per instructions of the Puri Superintendent of Police, the Baliaponda and Pentakota marine police reached the fishermen and took up rescue measures. The owner Danayya and ten others were rescued and brought to the shore.
