Isro seeks divine help for success of Chandrayaan-2
It has been a practice for the Isro chiefs to offer pray at the Tirumala temple and the Chengalamma temple in Nellore district before every launch.
TIRUPATI: Ahead of the launch of Chandrayan 2, Indian Space Research Organisa-tion chairman Kailasava-divoo Sivan prayed to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Saturday for the the successful launch of the crucial mission in the early hours of Monday.
It has been a practice for the Isro chiefs to offer pray at the Tirumala temple and the Chengalamma temple in Nellore district before every launch.
Speaking to mediapersons, Dr Sivan said all arrangements for launch of Chandrayaan-2 had been completed and GSLV MKIII would carry it into the space on schedule.
“On Monday, at around 2.51 am, we are going to have the most important and prestigious mission — Chandrayan 2. After the successful launch, it will take two months for the lander to land on the Moon’s South Pole,” he added.
Mr Sivan said all pre-launch tests have been completed.
“The mission aims at discovering new lunar details and hopes to demonstrate new technological development in soft landing,” he said.
