Nellore: GSLV-Mk III launch on Monday
The launch is scheduled for June 5, Monday at 5.28 pm, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, in Nellore district.
Nellore: The nation is eagerly waiting for the launch of the Indian Space Research Organisation’s heaviest rocket, the GSLV-Mk III, which will fly with an indigenous cryogenic engine.
The launch is scheduled for June 5, Monday at 5.28 pm, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, in Nellore district.
The Mk III version of GSLV will carry India’s heaviest communication satellite so far, the GSAT-9, weighing 3.2 tonnes.
The success of the mission will ensure a place for India in an elite club of nations , along with US, China, Russia, Japan and France that have successfully launched such heavy satellites.
Mission success on Monday will also mean that India will no longer have to depend on Europe’s Ariane launches to put its own heavy satellites into orbit.
