President Murmu Arrives in Hyderabad for Southern Sojourn

Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday to begin her annual winter southern sojourn at the Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum, where she will stay until December 22.
The President landed at the Hakimpet airport after offering prayers at the Golden Temple in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. She was received by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, minister-in-waiting for the President's visit Seethakka, IT minister D. Sridhar Babu, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy.
Following her arrival, the President proceeded to the Rashtrapati Nilayam, one of the official retreats of the Presidents of India, located in Bolaram, Secunderabad. In view of the President's visit, police have put in place elaborate security arrangements across the city, with additional deployment along movement corridors. Traffic restrictions were also imposed at several locations to ensure smooth passage and public safety during her engagements.
During her stay, Murmu will inaugurate the National Conference for the Chairpersons of States’ Public Service Commissions on December 19.
The event is being organised by the Telangana Public Service Commission in Hyderabad. On December 20, she will address a conference titled ‘Timeless Wisdom of Bharat: Pathways of Peace and Progress’, organised by Brahma Kumaris Shanti Sarovar at Gachibowli to mark its 21st anniversary. The President is scheduled to depart for New Delhi on December 22.
