The Rajasthan Police have issued “leave India” notices to two British tourists after they were found pasting posters carrying slogans such as “Free Palestine, Boycott Israel” in public areas of Pushkar, a major tourist town known for attracting large numbers of Israeli visitors.

According to police officials, the two UK nationals arrived in India on tourist visas in January and travelled to Pushkar from Delhi. Investigations revealed that they had printed around nine posters at a local press and pasted them on walls in areas frequently visited by Israeli tourists, including near a Chabad House (synagogue).

Police said the matter was taken seriously as engaging in political activities violates the conditions of a tourist visa.

During questioning, the two tourists apologised for their actions. Officials from the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) in Ajmer confirmed that notices were served on Monday under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, directing them to leave India at the earliest. Authorities said further action would be taken if they failed to comply.

Police removed the posters from public spaces and carried out checks in areas frequented by foreign tourists as a precautionary measure. Officials clarified that no formal complaints had been received from tourists regarding the posters.
