Berhampore: A day before launching a new political outfit in Murshidabad of West Bengal, suspended Trinamul Congress MLA of Bharatpur Humayun Kabir hinted at fielding candidates in all of the 294 seats in the Assembly Election next year.

Mr Kabir, who has already created a political storm by laying the foundation stone of a Babri Masjid-styled mosque on December 6 at Beldanga in the district to woo the Muslim voters, also sounded confident on Sunday about his new innings and its prospect.

He said, "I want to contest at 90 seats which are minority votebank oriented. Non-BJP, non-TMC secular parties can fight in another 135 seats as our allies.” His alliance plan includes 22 seats in Murshidabad in which his new party will contest in nine seats while leaving another nine to Congress, three to the Left and one to the Indian Secular Front.

Referring to his probable allies, Mr Kabir added, “If they do not agree for a larger alliance, I am ready to fight in all the seats." He also challenged TMC supremo and chief minister Mamata Banerjee to sit face-to-face with him in a televised public debate and even threatened to open a Pandora's Box.

On Monday, the controversial politician will launch his new party from a rally, with a crowd of four lakh people from various districts, at Beldanga near his mosque construction site. He warned, “If the police try to disturb my event and implicate me in a false case, my followers will demolish all the bricks of police stations."
