LoC Gunfight: Two Infiltrating Terrorists Killed
The Army said alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged the intruders, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire
Srinagar: The Indian Army on Thursday said that two unidentified militants were killed during an anti-infiltration operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Naushehra Nard area of the Gurez sector in the Kashmir Valley's northern Bandipore district.
The Srinagar-based 15 Corps, also known as Chinar Corps, shared on 'X' that a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police, based on intelligence about a possible infiltration attempt, led to the neutralization of the infiltrating militants.
It said, that alert troops spotted suspicious activity, challenged it, and responded to indiscriminate firing by the terrorists, resulting in their elimination and that the operation remains ongoing.

Based on intelligence provided by JKP regarding likely infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched by #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice in Gurez Sector. Operation is in progress", the post said.
Separately, an Army soldier, Havildar Ikbal Ali, and a Border Security Force (BSF) Constable Rajib Nunia, lost their lives in the line of duty at different locations in J&K.
The Chinar Corps paid tribute to Havildar Ali, who died in frontier Kupwara district, saluting his courage and dedication, and expressed solidarity with his family.
The BSF honoured Constable Rajib Nunia, who, it said, was martyred on August 27, during operational deployment along the International Boundary (IB) in Akhnoor sector of Jammu, noting his unwavering commitment. As per their statements, both sacrifices were deeply mourned, with condolences extended to their families.
