Hyderabad:The Rajendranagar police, in coordination with the central crime station (CCS), detected a daylight dacoity at a software engineer’s house and arrested six persons — one of them a relative of the victim — who carried out the crime wearing masks to conceal their identity. Two knives, two mobile phones, a car and gold and silver ornaments were seized from their possession, said Rajendranagar DCP Ch. Srinivas.

The arrested persons were identified as Jibran Bin Jaber, Mohammed Aqeel, Mohammed Fasiuddin, Sohail Shah Khan, Mohammed Abdul Rub Javeed, and Mohammed Shabbir.

On April 21, the complainant, Mohammed Shakir Ali, a software engineer, stated that while he and his family were at home, four masked individuals entered the house and threatened them at knifepoint.

The accused broke open the almirah and stole gold and silver ornaments, cash and two mobile phones. During the investigation, police discovered that Jaber, a relative of the complainant, had prior knowledge of the valuables and conspired with the others, arranging weapons and a getaway vehicle to execute the crime. The DCP said all six accused were apprehended within four days of the offence.

150 Huts Gutted In Kuntlur

Hyderabad:About 150 huts were gutted in a fire in Hayatnagar on Saturday morning. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire was not known, police said. In the absence of a complaint, the police booked a suo motu case and began investigations.

According to Hayatnagar station house officer P. Nagaraju, the fire could have started from a carelessly discarded lighted cigarette butt or if someone had left a lamp unattended. Residents suspected the fire could have started from an unattended stove. Police said seven fire tenders were deployed to douse the blaze.

Most huts contained one LPG cylinder each and they are suspected to have helped the fire spread.

Suspicious death in Kandukur, family alleges foul play

Hyderabad:A 36-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Dhanaram in Kandukur mandal on Saturday morning. While the case has been registered as a case of death under suspicious circumstances, the victim’s family has alleged foul play and accused his wife and two others of involvement.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Mandha Praveen, a daily-wage labourer residing in Dhanaram village along with his wife and children. The complaint was filed by his younger brother, Srikanth, who stays with their mother and another brother at Ranganayakula Gutta in Hayathnagar.

As per the complaint, Srikanth received a phone call around 6 am from his niece, who informed him that Praveen died by suicide. Srikanth rushed to Dhanaram along with his mother and brother. Upon reaching the house, they discovered Praveen lying lifeless. They grew suspicious when they saw injuries on the neck.

When questioned, Praveen’s wife Sirisha claimed he had died by suicide. The family alleged that the marks and wounds on his neck suggested otherwise. They suspected that Sirisha, along with Chevulapalli Mahesh and Bathakamoni Alivelu, may have been involved in Praveen’s death.

Police stated that they are awaiting the postmortem report to determine the exact cause of death.

Tanker catches fire at ORR Gauravelli exit

Hyderabad:In a disastrous fire incident on the Outer Ring Road (ORR),

A tanker driver had a narrow escape after a blaze broke out in the cabin of the vehicle near the Gauravelli exit of the ORR. The fire sent thick plume of smoke. Police suspect a possible short circuit in the cabin area as the cause.

Police said the driver, Akram, 31, of Maharashtra, immediately pulled over on noticing the fire, jumped out of the vehicle and alerted the authorities. He was transporting a load of adhesives from Gujarat to Visakhapatnam.

The ORR Task Force, along with fire officials and Abdullapurmet police, rushed to the spot and extinguished the flames before they could cause further damage. No injuries were reported and no formal police case was registered.

Rachakonda police commissioner G. Sudheer Babu and senior officials interacted with the victims.
