Mumbai: Versova police booked filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his daughter, Krishan Bhatt, for allegedly cheating a businessman of Rs 13.5 crore.
According to the complaint, the duo received money from him promising high returns by investing in film projects and other profitable business ventures. The case has been taken over by Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
The complaint comes after Bhatt and his wife, Shewetambari, were arrested in December last year in connection with another alleged fraud case. At that time, the case filed by businessman Dr. Ajay Murdia with the Udaipur police.
