Hyderabad:A call for help from a man led the Jagadgirigutta police to a house where three members of a family had allegedly killed their 18-year-old disabled daughter and attempted suicide. While the incident occurred on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, it came to light on Wednesday evening, Jagadgirigutta inspector Kranthi Kumar said.

Police said the family’s 23-year-old son, Nithin, informed one of his friends about the suicide attempt. The friend rushed to the apartment and shifted Nithin, his father, 54-year-old contractor Satish, mother Aamani to a private hospital. The hospital authorities informed the police.

When police reached the flat, located in Vijayanagar Colony, they found the body of 18-year-old Ravali in a decomposed condition. The body was shifted to the Gandhi mortuary for postmortem examination.

According to the police, the family had ensured that Ravali was dead, and then attempted to die by suicide thrice. They survived all the three attempts over a period of two days when Nithin finally called his friend on Wednesday evening.

According to police, the family, natives of Madanapalle in Andhra Pradesh, was facing severe financial difficulties. The family allegedly decided to end their lives together, but were worried about Ravali’s future and decided to kill her.

Police have registered a murder case against Satish who they said was unemployed, All three family members are undergoing treatment in a hospital and said to be in a stable condition. The statements of the family members were recorded at the hospital. “We are yet to analyse how they managed to keep the body at home for two days,” the inspector said.

Hyderabad:The Punjagutta police on Thursday arrested social media influencer Siddhamouni Narendra in connection with an online attack on film actress and BJP leader Karate Kalyani. He has been remanded him to judicial custody.Narendra was previously an accused in a chain-snatching case at the Meerpet police limits.

According to police, Kalyani had lodged a complaint a few days ago against Narender alleging that he had cheated innocent people by collecting funds on pretext of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) gifts and lucky dips. He used to collect `399 from each person.

Kalyani alleged in her complaint that Narender misused the TTD brand and ruined the reputation by collecting money from people.

Hyderabad:A 50-year-old man was hacked to death in an alleged drunken brawl for asking for his unpaid loan, at Goudavelli in Medchal on Wednesday night. Police identified the victim as Laxma Reddy, a painter. The accused, M. Lingam, was taken into custody on Thursday morning.

Police said that Lingam had borrowed money from Laxma Reddy. He reportedly felt humiliated when Laxma Reddy asked him for the money in front of his brother Srinivas Reddy. Police said that after the attack, Laxma Reddy had gone home, taken a bath and slept. The police apprehended him from there.

2 Die After Car Rams Into Bike From Behind

Nalgonda:Two persons riding a motorcycle died when a car hit their vehicle at Alair of Yadadri-Bhongir district early on Thursday. The victims, Vatti Bithin Reddy (28) and Mohammed Sirajuddin (27), were natives of Vikasnagar in Jangaon. Police said the car was speeding and being driven in a negligent manner. Police booked P. Pavan Kalyan, who was driving the car.
