Hyderabad: A three-year-old boy was run over by a car when he wandered into the main road in Madhuranagar, Bachupally, on Tuesday evening. Inspector J. Upender Rao said no one noticed the child enter the road till he was hit by the vehicle which was allegedly being driven in a rash manner.
When they realised what had happened, the parents rushed the child to a nearby hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. Car driver Srinivas has been arrested.
Labourer dies after hit by lorry
Hyderabad: Fifty-year-old Gangapaka Arjun, a labourer died when a ready mix cement lorry reportedly being driven at high speed hit his two-wheeler in Narkuda around 9.15 am on Tuesday. Shamshabad inspector K. Narender Reddy said Arjun was heading towards Shabad when the accident occurred. Locals informed his relative Kukkal Anjaneyulu and called the police. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
Choreographer Dies in Apt Fire Mishap
Hyderabad:Porkati Veerkand Reddy, a 38-year-old dance choreographer died in a fire at an apartment in Puppalaguda in Narsingi at around 2.30 am on Tuesday night. Narsingi inspector Hari Krishna Reddy said the fire is suspected to have erupted from the air-conditioner in the victim’s room.
Four other family members, including two minors, were present in the house when the incident occurred were safe.
Police said the other residents immediately left the burning house and called the Narsingi police, who went to the place along with the Panjagutta fire brigade. “We immediately broke the door open and found Veerkand Reddy. We administered CPR to him, but discovered that he had died. The furniture was damaged,” said inspector Hari Krishna Reddy.
By the time rescue teams arrived, the fire had engulfed the house, leaving furniture, clothes and all the other household items damaged. It took nearly 30 minutes for the fire brigades to douse the flames.
Panjagutta station fire officer P. Ramesh said, “He was asleep when the fire occurred. We are awaiting medical reports.”
