Counting to start with postal ballot

Vijayawada: District Collector and Election Officer D.K. Balaji has asked officials to be fully prepared for the counting of votes at the Krishna University venue on June 4.

He along with joint collector Geetanjali conducted training sessions for ROs and AROs on the counting process for the General Elections, at the Collectorate.

Balaji explained that the counting process would start with the postal ballot votes, but their results would be announced along with the EVM results. Candidates’ agents should not leave the counting hall without the permission of the ROs.

The district collector concluded the awareness programme after conducting a mock counting session.
