Visakhapatnam: Union Civil Aviation minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu underlined that central government is taking urgent steps to repatriate the mortal remains of three individuals from Andhra Pradesh who have died in the speedboat accident in Vietnam.

In a press release, Rammohan Naidu urged the bereaved families to remain strong during this difficult time. He assured the government’s full support to them.

He explained that the Vietnamese authorities and the Indian Embassy are completing the required formalities. The bodies of Raviteja from Hindupur, Sridhar from Kadapa, and Jayalakshmi from Machilipatnam are expected to reach Hanoi tonight after clearances are obtained. The bodies will then be flown to India.

The union minister further said arrangements are being made to bring back the other Telugu nationals stranded in Vietnam following the accident.

By Monday, Indian Embassy officials are expected to finalise the airline and documentation procedures for transporting the mortal remains to Hyderabad International Airport. The Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Civil Aviation, and Indian Embassy in Vietnam are coordinating closely to expedite the repatriation process.
