Woman Killed, Another Injured In Pak Shelling in Uri

With this the toll among the civilians in the cross-border shelling in two days has risen to 14

A woman was killed and another injured in the Pakistani shelling in the Uri sector along the Line on Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's northwestern Baramulla district late Thursday, the officials said.

Srinagar:A woman was killed and another injured in the Pakistani shelling in the Uri sector along the Line on Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's northwestern Baramulla district late Thursday, the officials said.

With this the toll among the civilians in the cross-border shelling in two days has risen to 14. One Army lance naik (non-commissioned officer) also died when a military post was hit by an artillery shell fired from the border on Wednesday night.

The officials said that a vehicle was hit by a mortar bomb at a place called Mahura while moving from Rezerwani village to Baramulla town, killing one of the passengers identified as Nargis Begum wife of Bashir Khan instantly and injuring another Hafeeza wife of Razeek Ahmad Khan. The injured has been evacuated to a hospital in Baramulla.
