Western Army Commander Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar warns Pakistan of a possible repeat Pahalgam-like terror attack, asserting the Indian Army is fully prepared.

The Chief of Indian Army’s Western Command on Tuesday issued a stern warning to Pakistan, asserting that any future attack on Indian soil would trigger a response far more devastating than Operation Sindoor.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a Mega Ex-Servicemen Rally in Jammu, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar highlighted the Indian Army’s unwavering resolve and advanced capabilities despite evolving warfare technologies. “From the 1965 war to Operation Sindoor, technology has changed, but the courage of the Indian Army remains unmatched,” he said.

He pointed to Pakistan’s recent drone attempts on Jammu and Pathankot airports, all thwarted by India’s robust anti-air defense systems. “If Pakistan dares to attack again, it will face a response deadlier than Operation Sindoor,” he warned, emphasizing that continued cross-border terrorism and proxy warfare would invite severe consequences.

Lt. Gen. Katiyar added that a potential “Operation Sindoor 2.0” would be “even more destructive,” noting that the first operation successfully dismantled terror infrastructure, Pakistani posts, and air bases. He stressed that India’s current response capabilities are “far more advanced and precise.”

Referring to Pakistan’s strategy of “bleeding India through a thousand cuts,” he reiterated that the neighbouring country lacks the capacity for direct conflict but may attempt attacks like the Pahalgam incident. “Unless Pakistan changes its mindset it will continue to face the consequences of its actions,” he said, asserting that India’s future responses would be “more powerful and deadlier.”

Addressing ex-servicemen, Lt. Gen. Katiyar credited their coordinated efforts, along with local communities, for the success of Operation Sindoor. He affirmed that the Indian Army remains vigilant along the 740-776 km Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, while the 221-km International Border is under constant surveillance by the Border Security Force.

“Pakistan may attempt mischief again, but we are ready to foil it,” he concluded, expressing confidence in the Army’s preparedness and the support of veterans and civilians.
