WB Governor Applies to EC to Be a Voter of State

Kolkata: West Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose wants to be a voter of the state, shifting his status from his hometown at Kottayam in Kerala, ahead of the Assembly Election.
He received and filled up an enumeration form on Thursday which was also the last date of submission of the applications of the voters, marking the end of the first phase of the special intensive revision.
In a statement, Lok Bhavan said that the governor met the BLO and other officials from the Election Commission of India in connection with his transfer of EPIC from Kerala to West Bengal and enrol as elector in the state.
According to the statement, Mr Bose said that he always had an “emotional attachment with West Bengal and its people and has umbilical relation with the State and its psyche, art and culture, heritage, literature, its glorious history and outstanding future prospects.”
It added that the governor has always “expressed that he considers himself blessed that he breathes the same air that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose breathed, walks the same land where Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore walked. He considers it a privilege to be a voter of the land that heralded the Indian Renaissance.”
