Vijayvargiya: Pradhan’s Resignation Offer Foiled Foreign Plot To Instigate Unrest

BHOPAL: Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has claimed that former Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had offered to resign from his post on the very first day of the protest launched by students at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) paper leak.
According to Mr. Vijayvargiya, Mr. Pradhan had shared his concern over the students’ stir with the BJP president on the day it began and offered to step down as education minister.
The BJP president had restrained him from resigning, saying that no decision had been taken on the issue and asked him not to discuss it with anyone until a decision was made, Mr. Vijayvargiya, who had earlier served as the national general secretary of the party, told the media at Indore late on Saturday night.
Mr. Pradhan resigned immediately after a decision in this regard was taken by the party, Mr. Vijayvargiya said.
The former Union minister’s resignation had led to withdrawal of the 36-day-long students’ agitation launched under the banner of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Delhi on Saturday.
Calling Mr. Pradhan an honest leader who takes up the responsibility, entrusted to him, with dedication and commitment, Mr. Vijayvargiya said that his resignation had foiled the design by the hostile foreign forces to destabilize India by creating unrest in the country, as was witnessed in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
“I congratulate him for what he has done”, Mr. Vijayvargiya said.
Taking a dig at the Congress for celebrating Mr. Pradhan’s resignation, he said that the party had no role to play in the students’ agitation and tried to take the credit for its success.
“It is like beating drums over the birth of a child in a neighbour's house”, he said while chiding Congress.
“Congress had played no role in the students’ agitation except to stand behind them. After the West Bengal Assembly elections (which brought BJP to power in that state), the Opposition parties were completely demoralized, and in that state of despair, they found a ray of hope in the CJP”, he said.
He also took a swipe at Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi for terming the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as termites which ruined the country’s education system, and said that ‘I feel sorry for Rahul’s political ideology and his intellect’.
The country is in the right direction now and the RSS has its contribution to it, he added.
