VHP Files FIR Against Adhir’s Fans
**Strapline:** Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal file a police complaint over AI-generated cartoons shared by supporters of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, alleging that sacred saffron attire was portrayed disrespectfully; police register an FIR and begin a cybercrime probe.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal Murshidabad district units lodged an complaint against supporters of Congress former MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for allegedly showing “sacred saffron clothes in a poor light.”
This followed the former MP’s supporters posting on social media, AI-generated cartoons of three TMC MPs — Yusuf Pathan, Abu Taher Khan and Khalilur Rahaman — clad in sacred “saffron clothes”. The three MPs have rebelled against Trinamul chief Mamata Banerjee and are said to be supporting the BJP.
The VHP and BD activists, led by Berhampore general secretary Sukdev Biswas, said in their complaint submitted to Berhampore police incharge Sandip Sen: “It is unethical and against the sanctity of sacred Hindu tradition of projecting saffron clothes in a poor light.” Police said they had lodged an FIR and action would be taken according to cyber crime law.
