UPSC CDS II Final Result Out: 574 Candidates Selected for Defence Academies
The merit list is based solely on candidates’ educational qualifications and date of birth.

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final result of the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination II, 2024. A total of 574 candidates (510 male, 64 female) have cleared the selection process and will join military training institutes in India, including IMA, Dehradun; INA, Ezhimala; AFA, Hyderabad; and OTA, Chennai.
The examination was held in September 2024, followed by Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews and assessments. From thousands of applicants, UPSC initially recommended 2534 for IMA, 900 for INA, and 613 for AFA. After rigorous selection, 574 candidates made the merit list.
Merit List Based on Qualification and Age
The merit list is based solely on candidates’ educational qualifications and date of birth, excluding medical examination results. The final merit is provisional, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.

Results are available on the UPSC website (www.upsc.gov.in) in the "What's New" section as a downloadable PDF titled "Final Result Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2024." Candidates should save a hard copy for reference.
Academy-wise Course Details
Selected candidates will enroll in:
- Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun: Regular Army (male cadets).
- Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala: Indian Navy (male cadets).
- Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad: Flying Officers (cadets).
- Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai: 122nd SSC Non-Technical Course (Men) and 36th SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course.
Joining Letters and Training
Joining letters will be issued soon, and candidates will report to their respective academies for training, beginning an honorable journey in service of the nation.
Marks to Be Published Online
Candidates’ marks will be available on the UPSC website within 15 days of the result declaration and accessible for 30 days.
