SIT Formed To Probe Noida Woman’s Death By ‘Suicide’ At Marital Home, Her Purported Last Text, Going Viral, Says ‘I Am Trapped Bro’

BHOPAL: A special investigation team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the death of a 33-year-old Noida woman allegedly by suicide at her marital home here on the night of May 12 after her family members mounted pressure on the police for a fair investigation into the case.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajneesh Kashyap will head the SIT which would investigate allegations related to dowry harassment, physical assault, and alleged attempts to destroy evidence after the death of Twisha Sharma, the Noida woman who married lawyer Samarth Singh here in December 2025.
The deceased’s mother-in-law is a retired district judge, Giribala Singh.
The family of the deceased staged a brief demonstration in front of chief minister Mohan Yadav’s official bungalow here on Sunday after being denied meeting with him to take up the matter with him.
They demanded a repeat postmortem of the deceased in the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.
The autopsy report of the deceased conducted at the AIIMS, Bhopal, says that she died because of hanging but also points out the presence of simple injury marks at some places on her body.
According to ACP Mr. Kashyap, a case has been registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to dowry death and harassment against the lawyer and her mother.
The kin of the deceased however alleged delay in registration of FIR in the case.
The case was registered on Friday.
The retired judge secured anticipatory bail from a sessions court in the evening on the same day.
According to Twisha’s kin, she wanted to leave Bhopal and return to Noida.
Her family members also claimed that she had remained in touch with them till ten pm on May 12, shortly before her death.
The viral purported chats of the deceased, speculated to be just hours before her death, said, “I am trapped bro. Bas tu mat phasna. (I am trapped bro. Just make sure you don’t get stuck). Can’t talk much. I will call when the time is right”.
The response to the chat read “I am worried about you. I love you so much”.
