SC Gives Relief To Actor Shreyas Talpade
A bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and K.V. Viswanathan issued notices to the Haryana Police and others on the actor’s plea.
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday granted actor Shreyas Talpade protection from arrest in a cheating and breach-of-trust case filed against a cooperative society.
A bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and K.V. Viswanathan issued notices to the Haryana Police and others on the actor’s plea.
Thirteen individuals, including actors and brand ambassadors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath, were named in a complaint by 37 year old Sonipat resident Vipul Antil. The complainant alleged that both actors “promoted the Human Welfare Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. as brand ambassadors.”
The FIR, registered on January 22 under Sections 316(2), 318(2), and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, accuses the society of criminal breach of trust, cheating, and other offences for “cheating the public through financial schemes.”
