President Murmu Begins Six-Day Odisha Tour, To Visit Temples, Universities And Tribal Heartland

President to attend programmes across five districts, interact with students and tribal communities, inaugurate development projects

Bhubaneswar: President of India Droupadi Murmu arrived in Odisha on Monday evening on a six-day visit to the state, during which she will attend official engagements across five districts, including religious, academic and public outreach programmes.

The President reached Bhubaneswar aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft and is staying overnight at Lok Bhavan. Her itinerary covers Puri, Khurda, Balasore, Jajpur and Mayurbhanj districts.

On Tuesday, President Murmu will travel to Jajpur to offer prayers at the revered Maa Biraja Temple, where she is scheduled to spend over an hour. She will later proceed to Balasore to attend the 12th convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University, where she will interact with graduating students.

On February 3, the President will arrive in Puri for an overnight stay. The following day, she will visit the Shree Jagannath Temple to seek blessings of Lord Jagannath and perform Pinda Dana rituals at Swetaganga. From Puri, she will travel directly to Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.

In Rairangpur, her native region, President Murmu will address a large public gathering, interact with local residents, and inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development projects. She will also offer prayers at the Jagannath Temple in Rairangpur.

On February 5, the President will travel via Jashipur to Similipal Wildlife Sanctuary, where she will stay overnight. She is scheduled to interact with tribal women and youth from the Similipal region the following day.

Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place across all locations in view of the President’s visit, officials said.
