Pradhan Quits: Students Celebrate In MP, CG As Political Row Escalates

Students were seen taking to streets in cities of Bhopal, Indore, Katni, Ratlam, and other places in Madhya Pradesh to celebrate the news by sharing sweets and bursting firecrackers.

In Indore, the students were seen singing patriotic songs while holding the tricolour to celebrate the development.

In Chhattisgarh, students were seen celebrating the development in the cities of Bilaspur, and Bhopal.

Mr. Pradhan on Saturday resigned from his post in the wake of the 25-day-long protests by students under the banner of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Delhi against paper leaks in the NEET-UG.

Meanwhile, in his reaction to the development, Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the paper leak in NEET-UG had caused misery to the students and added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi acted promptly by taking a series of measures in the interest of the students.

He said that the students are not only the future of the country but also ‘our future’.

Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the decision by Mr. Pradhan to step down from his post, describing it ‘an example of his commitment to moral values in public life’.

He said that Mr. Pradhan had worked a lot for the development of education in the country by implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) and skill development-based education.

Chhattisgarh Assembly speaker and former chief minister Raman Singh said that the step by Mr. Pradhan to resign from his post was necessary to calm the anger of the students, triggered by paper leaks in NEET-UG.

He said that the NEET paper leak issue had caused student unrest in the country.

Veteran Congress leader and former chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Mr. Pradhan’s resignation is a victory for Gen Z, which he described as ‘avatar of Lord Narsimha (angry god)’.
