The proposed visit was formally announced by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) following a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja at Lok Seva Bhavan here on Tuesday. The visit assumes added political significance as it comes at a time when the BJP government in Odisha is seeking to consolidate its position after ending the Biju Janata Dal's uninterrupted 24-year rule in the state IN 2024. The presence of both the President and the Prime Minister at the anniversary celebrations is being viewed as a strong endorsement of the state government's development agenda and governance initiatives.

Security arrangements are expected to be extensive, with central and state agencies working in close coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme. Senior officials have been directed to expedite preparatory work relating to venue management, transportation, public participation and protocol arrangements.
