Adilabad: After being offered vacation trips by candidates, the leaders of various communities have become active and playing a key role in swaying the voters belonging to their community to ensure their leaders' victory in the Assembly elections to be held on Thursday.
Community leaders came out openly in support of political parties and contesting candidates and even organised meetings expressing their support for particular political parties.

They were meeting voters, arranging parties with liquor and dinner and offering money to seek their votes. They were also promising the young voters to take them on a vacation trip to Goa with the full package if they elected their candidate. Sources said the community leaders have already offered some money in advance to them to win their confidence.

However, few contesting candidates are showing interest in directly benefiting the youth instead of depending on middlemen and community leaders with the idea that community leaders may not influence their members these days like in the past.

BRS’ Jogu Ramanna from Adilabad revoked the suspension on a party leader who is leading a community which has a considerable number of votes just before the KCRs meeting in Adilabad and also suspended his community leader on the charges of anti-party activities and supporting another party candidate in the Adilabad Assembly Constituency.

However, it is a fact that communities were also divided among the major political parties and there was no situation where the entire community supported one party or one candidate.

Many contesting candidates had promised to give donations for the construction of the temples and community halls in their villages and the government’s help for their caste occupations to bag their vote bank.
