HYDERABAD: Ridiculing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to the Yadadri temple and scheduled visit to other temples, senior Congress leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah likened it to a ‘cat going on a pilgrimage after eating 1,000 mice’. He said that Rao’s offerings in temples were ‘compensation for the sins’ committed by him.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, he wondered if there would be divine blessings for a person who plans to float a national party through ‘ill-gotten money’.  “Getting a private jet speaks volumes about the way he has looted the state,” Lakshmaiah alleged.

On Rao’s visit to Warangal on Saturday, lakshmaiah felt that he should first come clear on the projects that are delayed.

“People of Warangal have a right to know why the pumps at Devadula project have remained non-functional. Why did the government fail to upgrade the underground drainage system? What happened to the promise of a textile park and a-mini Tank Bund at Bhadrakali temple? Rao has done nothing for Warangal,” he said.
