NIZAMABAD: TRS president and caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that sea of humanity at TRS meetings was a sign that the party would retain power. He predicted that TRS candidates would win with huge margins across the state. The poor attendance at Opposition meetings showed their weakness, he said.

Mr Rao took part in campaign meetings in Banswada and Jukkal constituencies on Wednesday with party nominees Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Hanmanth Shinde. Mr Rao said that Nizamsagar would have water all year round after the completion of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project.  He said that farmers under Nizamsagar could cultivate two crops every year.

Earlier, farmers of Nizamabad district agitated for water from Singur reservoir, but now the Nizamsagar project has sufficient water, he said.

Mr Rao reiterated that double bedroom houses will be provided all the needy in phases. There is no need of confusion, he said. People should compare the visible development in the state with that of the past. "If previous governments had successfully completed the housing scheme, why would poor people have to wait for houses," he asked.
