Warangal: A comment from TRS party MLA of Parkal Challa Dharma Reddy, that beneficiaries of the Dalit Bandhu Scheme would not get double bedroom houses, has created a stir.

Dharma Reddy made the statement while speaking in a meeting in Raiparthy village of Nadikuda mandal on Saturday. “I am not going to allot double bedroom houses to those that had received the Dalit Bandhu Scheme benefits,” he said.

He stressed the same again at a meeting in Kamareddypalli village on Sunday, He said that since many Dalits lived in Parkala constituency, it was important to do justice to all. “They will get either included in the Dalit Bandhu Scheme or get double-bedroom houses,” he said.

“The choice is left with you. It is for you to decide whether you want to be a part of the Dalit Bandhu Scheme or get double-bedroom house,” he said.

This led to a heated discussion among political circles and among Dalits. Leaders of the opposition parties slammed the comments and alleged that the TRS was deceiving people by making false promises and then imposing restrictions. Dalit leaders warned of an agitation against the MLA if the schemes are not implemented properly in the constituency.
