A huge BJP rally was organised in Dharwad to demand the resignation of minister Vinay Kulkarni.

BJP leader and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje has claimed that Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George is exerting pressure on the relatives of DySP Ganapathy not to depose before the CBI with regard to his mysterious death.

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru on Monday, Ms Karandlaje stated that Mr George is trying his best to tamper with the evidence related to the Ganapathy suicide case. Right from the suicide of IAS officer D.K. Ravi, the state government has misled the investigation into such cases using its power. After tampering with the evidence, the government has handed over the Ravi case to the CBI so that the truth would not come out.

The MP also referred to the mysterious death of IAS officer Anurag Tiwari after he wrote a letter to the Centre for a thorough investigation with regard to rampant corruption in the Food and Civil Supplies department.

Minister Vinay Kulkarni had threatened the mother of Yogesh Gowda, BJP leader and Dharwad ZP member, who was murdered recently, she said adding  the Home Minister's adviser Kempaiah had camped in Dharwad to safeguard  Kulkarni. Kempaiah played a crucial rule to derail the investigation in the Yogesh Gowda murder case, Shobha alleged. Kulkarni had also threatened the advocate of Yogesh Gowda, who has sought an impartial enquiry in the matter and has written to the Bar Council and Governor, Ms Karandlaje added.
