Hyderabad: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar dared Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao to visit any Karnataka village bordering Telangana to personally ascertain whether or not the Congress government there was implementing the five guarantees promised by it ahead of the recent Assembly elections.

"I will arrange a bus. You all come with your family members and party leaders to Karnataka. I will also accompany you. I am making an open offer to you. Let us together visit any village bordering Telangana. You ask the people whether the Congress government has implemented poll promises or not. I can confidently say that whatever we had promised has been delivered within a month of coming to power. Now I am asking you whether you have delivered the promises that were made ten years back?"

Addressing street corner meetings as part of the second phase of the Congress bus yatra in Tandur, Parigi, and Chevella on Saturday, Shivkumar said, "Today, I have come to Telangana to tell you that the six guarantees the Congress has given here are better than Karnataka’s five guarantees. I can assure you all that the new Congress government in Telangana will hold its first cabinet meeting on December 9 and implement all six promises immediately."

Stating that several people in Telangana have relatives in Karnataka, Shivakumar said, "You ask them about our promises and they will give the answers. I am ready to prove that farmers were given five hours of power, women were given free rides in KSRTC buses and Rs2,000 monthly assistance, 200 units of free power to all households, and 10 kg fine rice per person to households as promised during the Assembly polls."

Shivakumar said that Sonia Gandhi accorded statehood to Telangana in 2014 as promised by her in 2004 without bothering about political risks and it's time for Telangana people to express their gratitude to her by electing a Congress government.

TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy said that the Congress government will recover the Rs1 lakh crore that he alleged were looted by Chandra Shekar Rao and his family members and nearly 10,000 acres around Hyderabad encroached by them.

"In a recent public meeting, KCR said that he will take a rest in his farmhouse if BRS is defeated. I warn him and his family members that the Congress government will not spare them. We will recover all that they have looted," he said.

Reddy lashed out at K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao for resorting to 'blackmail politics' with their statements that real estate will crash in Hyderabad and Telangana if Congress comes to power.

"The real estate value in Hyderabad and Telangana has increased due to the development programmes of the Congress governments between 2004 and 2014. It's Congress that brought the Hyderabad ORR project, international airport, Metro Rail, and expansion of the IT corridor due to which the real estate value has increased. If today, an acre of land around Hyderabad fetches Rs100 crore, it's because of Congress governments. The BRS has only been looting the wealth created by Congress," Reddy alleged.
