Warangal: Mr K.T. Rama Rao, IT and industries minister, said on Friday that Telangana state had always endeavoured to promote progress and development by encouraging investment in key sectors like information technology, while inaugurating a new facility of Mphasis.

Mr Rao said that “as a state, we continue to welcome interest from innovators globally to capitalise on available tech talent in the city. I had the privilege of inaugurating the maiden facility of Mphasis back in 2016. I am immensely pleased to see them expand their base here.”

Mr Nitin Rakesh, chief executive officer and director, Mphasis, announced the expansion of its Hyderabad footprint with the inauguration of its new facility.

Mr Rakesh said, “Hyderabad is fast emerging as a leading centre for tech opportunities, with its large pool of skilled talent. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the IT minister for helping us set a foundation three years ago and for his continued interest in our growth.”

He said that after the success of the company’s cognitive hub for risk and compliance, which was set up in August, 2016, the new centre would help build on the work the company does across verticals and a wide spectrum of next-gen technologies. Mphasis Hyderabad has grown 3x in past three years, he highlighted, adding that building on its strength in financial services, the company was now expanding across logistics and real estate domains.

Mr Rakesh said that expanding on Mphasis NextLabs, the centre was increasingly embarking on transformational projects to help global enterprises accelerate business outcomes and aimed at attracting and developing niche technology talent, with capabilities in data analytics, AI/ML, React and Java technologies.
