Thiruvananthapuram: The writing on the wall is clear. To leave no one in doubt, the UDF leaders chose a compound wall at Pattoor on Wednesday to write the word ‘Padayorukkam’ (war preparation)—the title of the  month-long state-wide yatra to be taken out by  opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala  from  Manjeshwaram on November  1.

The yatra  in protest against the ‘betrayal’ of the voters by the LDF and BJP governments will   conclude  here on December 1. While senior Congress leader A. K. Antony will flag off the ‘Padayorukkuam,’ the concluding rally will be inaugurated by AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Those who attended the graffiti writing on a public wall included Mr   Chennithala, KPCC president M. M. Hassan, former chief minister Oommen Chandy, Muslim League national general secretary P. K. Kunhalikutty, UDF convener P. P. Thankachan, RSP state secretary A. A. Azeez, Forward Bloc leader G. Devarajan, and Thiruvananthapuram DCC president Neyyatinkara Sanal.
