Not police, people will protect me, says Etala
WARANGAL: BJP MLA and former minister Etala Rajendar charged that having spent some hundred crores to defeat him in Huzurabad by-polls, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is now trying to harm him through a “psycho” who has been given an MLC post.
Speaking to media in Kazipet during his visit to Hanamkonda on Wednesday, Rajendar alleged that the CM has given a special task to the psycho (referring to MLC Padi Koushik Reddy) to threaten opponents and even media persons.
The MLA said the psycho had attacked a local reporter. After learning that the reporter was a Mudiraj, he even abused the community. “In the audio clip circulated on social media, he (Koushik Reddy) warned that he would kill me (Rajendar) by giving supari of ₹20 crore. Psycho is acting on directions given from the Pragathi Bhavan,” the Huzurabad MLA said.
He underlined that as he is a public representative who is facing threats, it is the duty of state government to provide him security. “Not the police officials, people will protect me,” Rajendar maintained.
He countered that if Koushik Reddy does not mend his ways, BJP workers and his followers will teach him a fitting lesson by garlanding him with footwear at Ambedkar Chowrastha in Huzurabad and Gandhi Chowrastha in Jammikunta.
The Huzurabad MLA said: “I did not fear when Nayeem and his gang threatened to see my end. When Sambasivudu died, I met Nayeem and warned him that he would die like a street dog. If CM KCR and his psycho think they can scare me by indulging in such cheap tactics, it is their foolishness.”
Rajendar said on several occasions, he had lodged complaints with police commissioners of both erstwhile Karimnagar and Warangal districts. But they have neither responded nor taken any action till date, he stated.
