Congress asks DGP for Security to party MLA

They demanded protection to Mr Venkat Reddy, suspecting that he could be the next target of TRS leaders including Mr Veresam.

Hyderabad: TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, senior MLAs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, J. Geetha Reddy, Shabbir Ali and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao and other Congress leaders went in a procession on Saturday and met DGP M. Mahender Reddy at his office and requested that he ensure an impartial inquiry into Srinivas’ murder.

They demanded protection to Mr Venkat Reddy, suspecting that he could be the next target of TRS leaders including Mr Veresam.

Mr Venkat Reddy told mediapersons that he was facing threats from Nakrekal MLA V. Veeresam and local TRS leaders and sought security by four police personnel and a bulletproof vehicle.

Mr Hanumantha Rao said after the gangster Nayeemuddin, Mr Veresam was indulging criminal activity in Nalgonda district and sought his arrest.
