Kozhikode: K.K. Rema, the widow of slain Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T.P. Chandrasekharan, has demanded the removal of power minister M.M. Mani, whose discharge petition in Congress leader Anchery Baby murder case the Thodupuzha additional and district sessions court had rejected last week. "The chief minister should immediately sack him. A murder accused continuing in the ministry is a threat to democracy," she said.

"He is now alleging that the case is politically-motivated. This is absurd. He himself had revealed his role in the murder. The democratic Kerala listened to his frightening Manakkad speech, admitting to killing political rivals one by one. No murder accused has so far been a minister in Kerala.” The RMP leader said the minister was challenging all the democratic norms. The blood-stained leaders continuing in power is a threat to the public as a whole, she added.
