Kollam: The public comments by K. Muraleedharan MLA against the Congress leadership would only help to destroy the spirit of Congress workers and fuel political opponents, Congress spokesperson Rajmohan Unnithan said here on Monday. He also said the KPCC would “consider” the statement seriously and would possibly forced to think of taking disciplinary action against Mr. Muraleedharan.

“None of the Congress workers have expressed any disregard for the working of the KPCC and UDF leaderships. As opposed to Muraleedharan’s claims, we have even received complaints of “over workload” from Congressmen or allies because of the continuous programmes we are conducting,” Mr. Unnithan said.

“Muraleedharan has become a “permanent complainant” within the party. His statements in order to grab media attention turned out to be in the wrong context and made the party get disrespected in the public,” he added. Ridiculing Muraleedharan for his absence at the death anniversary observations of K. Karunakaran, Mr. Unnithan said either Muraleedharan had forgotten the anniversary or that there was no point in attending the function.
