Vijayawada: Suspended YSRC MLA from Tadikonda Dr Vundavalli Sridevi on Sunday vehemently denied the allegation that she did cross-voting in the recent MLC elections, and warned the party that she would give a ‘return gift’ to Jagan Mohan Reddy and the YSR Congress in the future elections.

Claiming that she was now an independent MLA without any political affiliation, Sridevi extended her full support to the ‘Amaravati capital’ cause and promised to put her life at stake to fight for it.

Sridevi complained on Sunday that she was facing a threat to her life from party general secretary and government adviser Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. “Unfortunately, Andhra Pradesh is facing a situation where even a woman MLA has no protection. I would lodge a complaint to the National Scheduled Caste Commission against Ramakrishna Reddy,” she said.

Sridevi alleged that she was thrown out of the party for refusing to be a "benami for YSRC's illegal acts and unauthorised mining". After using her for four years, the party dumped her citing the MLC elections as an excuse, she said.

She said YSRC goons were threatening her and there was a conspiracy to eject her out of the state capital region. “I will stand with Amaravati farmers fighting against the government's plans for trifurcation of the state capital. At present, I have no plan to join any other party and would try solving the problems of the people of my constituency as an independent MLA,” she said.
