Hyderabad: Karimnagar MP and BJP’s national general secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar warned BRS legislator K.P. Vivekananda of serious repercussions if attacks on the BJP cadre were not stopped forthwith. Cautioning against their patience being tested for long, he said that the party cadre was capable of hitting back but they are showing restraint only for the sake of the people.

Addressing the media after meeting party candidate from Qutbullapur, Kuna Srisailam Goud, who was attacked while participating in a TV debate, he said, “The people have decided to bring us to power.

They are relying on the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and trust his abilities. But a section of the media seems to think that Congress will come to power while another section is batting for BRS. During elections, the ruling party should showcase its achievements and not resort to victimising opposition party members.”

He added, “Vivekananda is a notorious land grabber. All surveys are indicating Srisailam Goud’s win, which is why the BRS candidate is resorting to muscle power. We can also retaliate but will not do so.”

He wondered why the police and intelligence officials had not acted even after having information about the attack. He wanted to know why protection was not given to Srisailam Goud, who is a former MLA.

“Action will be taken against all such biased police officials once we come to power. Some retired officials, who are working in the CMO, are threatening business houses and collecting money meant for Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. Cases should be filed against the BRS candidate, who should be barred from contesting in the ensuing election,” he added.

Former MP Chada Suresh Reddy, BJP leaders J. Sangappa, Ravi Kumar Yadav, and Chikoti Praveen were also present.
