TIRUPATI: Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged on Friday that policemen in civilian clothes orchestrated the attack on Anna Canteen and the series of disturbances in Kuppam during the first two days of the former CM’s tour of his home constituency.

“It was really unfair on the part of the police to arrange a bandobast at the residence of MLC Bharat. Hundreds of cops were deployed there, but they intentionally avoided providing security to the Anna canteen,” Naidu told a public at Model Colony in Kuppam on Friday.

He said the SP of Chittoor district was present in the town when the incidents took place. He demanded that the DGP and the Chittoor SP explain why this lapse.

Later, addressing a Rachabanda programme at Yanadipalli, the former CM said, “The chief minister is acting like dictator Kim Jong Un of North Korea. Like Kim, Jagan Reddy is also foisting false cases after YSRC men attacked our party activists."

Naidu said, “The YSRC does not want me to visit my own assembly constituency and they are foisting false cases against TDP activists. The police are acting like goondas of this government.”

“Till recently, none dared to take law into their hands. Now the situation is different. The police should know the TDP is coming back  to power in the next elections and we will keep in mind how you function now,” he warned.
Naidu alleged that the ruling party is discontinuing the welfare schemes in Kuppam on some pretext or the other.

"Kuppam did not have even basic amenities once. Only after the TDP came to power, l started providing the area all these facilities. The youth even from remotest villages in this assembly segment are holding high positions and I really feel proud of them," he said.
