UDF to protest against anti-people policies

Kerala Congress(M) chairman K.M. Mani who boycotted the meeting will also attend the protest, it was stated.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 47 UDF MLAs will stage a sit-in protest in front of the secretariat against the anti-people  policies of the LDF government  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  on August 4. This was decided by the UDF meeting held at Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala’s official residence on Monday. Kerala Congress(M) chairman K.M. Mani who boycotted the meeting will  also attend the protest, it was stated.

“After the four-hour protest, a meeting of the UDF  leaders will be held to chalk out the future programmes,”   said UDF convenor P.P.  Thankachan. At the meeting,  Janata Dal (United) leader Varghese George demanded to know whether there was  trading of votes in Nemom as reported by the media. 

KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran denied it and said  that the report of the sub-committee  led by party treasurer Johnson Abraham who probed  the poll debacle in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta was yet to be discussed in the party forum.  He added that  the  issues with all the allies will be amicably settled.
