Minister Vellamandi Natarajan comes out with funds for tourism

The Pykara boathouse in Udhagamandalam would also be developed at a cost of Rs 37 lakh.

Chennai: The Minister for Tourism, Vellamandi Natarajan,  announced funds to develop key tourist spots in the state in the Assembly on Monday. The minister said that the boathouse belonging to the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation in Yercaud would be improved with better facilities to aid tourists at a cost of Rs 75 lakh. The Pykara boathouse in Udhagamandalam would also be developed at a cost of Rs 37 lakh.

"The government-run Hotel Tamil Nadu in Hoganakkal, Udhagamandalam, Madurai, Tiruchandur, Kodaikanal will have additional facilities to make travel easier for tourists at a total cost of Rs 1.42 crore," he said.
