Sonia not reason for T statehood: BJP's Muralidhar Rao
Hyderabad: BJP Madhya Pradesh incharge P. Muralidhar Rao took objection to the remarks of Congress leader Jairam Ramesh crediting Sonia Gandhi for Telangana statehood, and said that it was achieved through the Sakala Janula Samme. After the protest, the Congress had realized that there was no option other than creating a new state.
Addressing the media, he asked, “If the logic of the Congress is accepted, then British Prime Minister Clement Atlee has to be credited with giving independence to India. The Congress is indulging in false claims and is insulting the people of Telangana.”
“Once we come to power in the state, we will include this in the history books so that it is not differently interpreted again,” Muralidhar Rao said.
He said Jairam Ramesh finding fault with the BRS is akin to pot calling the kettle black. “Is the Congress not a family party? The lacuna which are there in the BRS are there in the Congress also and the BJP is the only party which can bring change in the state,” he said.
