Politics can wait, it is people that matters to govt: Pinarayi Vijayan

Pinarayi said the swearing-in function is held at the Central Stadium to accommodate as much people as possible.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister designate Pinarayi Vijayan said that the LDF government being sworn in on Wednesday would a peoples' government.
At a press conference here, Pinarayi said the government would represent all sections of society He hailed all voters who had taken a strong stand to safeguard and uphold democracy..

“The government that comes to power tomorrow belongs to everyone, irrespective of political differences and affiliations. If people keep off, it would not strengthen democracy. Our government will work for the benefit of people cutting across politics, caste, creed and communities," he said.

He said the swearing-in ceremony was being held at the Central stadium to accommodate as many people as possible, who reach the capital from different parts of the state. Facilities are arranged at three places for people to watch the ceremony.

Families of the martyrs, leaders of various political parties, cultural leaders will take part. CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury and politburo member Prakash Karat will be arrive at 9.50 am on Wednesday to take part in the LDF government’s swearing-in ceremony

After the swearing-in ceremony, Pinarayi and team will attend the High Tea hosted by the Governor at Raj Bhavan premises. The new Cabinet will hold its first meeting at the secretariat after the High Tea. Meanwhile, Pinarayi will call on Governor P Sathasivam on Wednesday morning and submit the list of  ministers to him.
