VIJAYAWADA: In what could possibly be a first, former minister and YSR Congress MLA Kodali Venkateswara Rao alias Nani challenged Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu for a physical faceoff.

The MLA went on to say that he (Nani) and Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi of YSRC will be enough to deal with Chandrababu Naidu, who will have to come without his usual NSG security cover after resigning as leader of the opposition.

“Let's go to Nallamala forest or Bandar (Machilipatnam) sea for a fight. If we die in our fight they will put you in jail. If you die, we will be put in jail,” Kodali Nani declared at a press conference he called on Friday.

According to Nani, the TD chief had visited Gannavaram for a programme, where two glasses and a computer had been broken. The MLA said Naidu then threw a challenge to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy that the latter come without security and protection for a one-on-one fight.

The former minister maintained that as the CM respects democracy, he will not respond to such challenges. Thus he (Kodali Nani) and Vamsi are throwing a counter challenge to Naidu.

The YSRC MLA stated that Naidu must be watching movies of Balakrishna like “Veerasimha Reddy” and “Akhanda”. Hence, the TD chief has gone overboard and has taken to throwing such challenges.
