Siddaramaiah insane, they plotted to jail me: BS Yeddyurappa

Belagavi: Commenting on the possible nomination of Union Minister, Venkaiah Naidu to the Rajya Sabha  from Karnataka, state BJP chief, B.S. Yeddyurappa on Monday said the state party unit would not recommend anyone for the Upper House and would support any candidate nominated by its national leadership.

Speaking to reporters here, he called Chief Minister Siddaramaiah insane for claiming the BJP would never come to power in the state because of his stint in jail while in office. “The Chief Minister doesn’t know what  he is  talking about.  A High Court Bench has cleared me of all charges. I was sent to jail for 24 days owing to a political conspiracy. I know why is he speaking against me. He is afraid because of the tremendous response I am getting from people across the state on my tours,'' he maintained, declaring that Mr Siddaramaiah would be the last Congress Chief Minister of Karnataka and the BJP would win not less than 150 assembly seats if elections were held tomorrow.

“The CM failed to ensure the victory of the Congress even in the Zilla Panchayat and civic polls in his  own hometown of Mysore,” he added, also claiming the BJP would win all the seats in the elections to the legislative council.

Accusing Mr Siddaramaiah of misleading the people over the Kalsa-Banduri project, Mr Yeddyurappa said  that state BJP leaders were prepared to  speak to their counterparts in neighbouring states like Goa provided the Congress leaders succeeded in persuading their partymen in these states to help break the deadlock.
